Homemade Margherita Pizza

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2½ cups flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2¼ tsp yeast

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 200 g fresh mozzarella cheese

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare dough
    Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes.

  2. Mix ingredients
    Add flour, salt, and olive oil.

  3. Knead dough
    Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth.

  4. Let rise
    Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour.

  5. Preheat oven
    Heat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  6. Shape pizza
    Roll dough into a circle.

  7. Add sauce
    Spread tomato sauce evenly.

  8. Add cheese
    Place mozzarella slices on top.

  9. Bake
    Bake for 12–15 minutes.

  10. Finish
    Add fresh basil and drizzle olive oil.
