Pan-Seared Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tbsp lemon zest

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season the salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear the salmon
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin-side down, and cook for 4–5 minutes. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and the skin is crispy.

  3. Make the lemon butter sauce
Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside. In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, cooking for another 2 minutes.

  4. Serve
Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the salmon fillets and garnish with fresh dill or parsley.

  5. Serve with sides
Serve the salmon with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
